Great British Sewing Bee Book – Aztec Leggings

I decided that I’m going to try to make my way through all the patterns in my various books, starting with the first one I bought – The Great British Sewing Bee – Sew Your Own Wardrobe by Tessa Evelegh.

I’ve previously made the Girl’s Dress and got about halfway through the pencil skirt before adding it to the UFO pile. This time, I’ve decided to make the Aztec Leggings.

I used some old black jersey I had started to make into a maxi dress and cut out the pieces. I also ran out of tracing paper, but found that normal craft tissue paper works quite well too! (and is much cheaper, even if you have to tape two bits together!).

But… under a long top… not bad. I’ll give these a whirl and see whether they stay up and then work out fixing the waistband.

Next, I’ll probably try… finishing the pencil skirt!

Inside out waistband… all because I wasn’t concentrating! What is the worst mistake you’ve made when sewing tired?
